![]() ![]() Even when I control the system using Remote Desktop or VNC I use APC as the dome control. I use ACP to control my Siruis Dome and Paramount ME (but it still requires TheSky to be running). You can even monitor the remote user's web activity from the local ACP console. It will then upload the images to your webserver for the user to retrieve. It will slew the scope & dome, takes the image and processes your image calibration set. The user just picks targets, sets the exposure times and selects filters you listed as available, The software does the rest. They don't have to know what type of mount or camera you have and they have no access to your desktop or your computers folders or files. The beauty of ACP is the remote user doesn't have to have any knowledge of you observatory's equipment. Those privileges consist of the ability to compress images, web uploading, access to the built in FTP server, script execution or admin rights. You just assign the user an account, password and set their privileges. Programs like Remote Desktop & VNC allow the user not only full uncontrolled access to your scope, but full access to your computer and network as well.ĪCP has a very nice web interface that allows limited functional control of your equipment (scope and camera). If you are going to allow others to use your obs trust me ACP is the way to go.
